How do Crowns Work?

Interested in traditional crowns? Call Primera Dental today at 407-512-5700 for an appointment.

Crowns are usually made of porcelain and are used to restore decayed, damaged or cracked teeth. Crowns are bonded to natural teeth making them instantly stronger and better looking.

A crown is type of dental restoration used to completely cover or “cap" a damaged tooth or implant. Crowns are often needed when a large cavity threatens the ongoing health of a tooth. While
strengthening a weak tooth, a crown can be used to improve its appearance,
shape or alignment.

Fitting a Crown typically takes two visits:

- During your first visit, we will prepare the tooth, take an impression and fit it with a temporary crown.

- During your next visit, we will fit, place and cement the finished crown resulting in a healthy beautiful tooth.
